My 10 Good Habit List
Lately, I've been thinking about building good habits for my daily routine. It was a couple days ago when I found this book in the marketplace: "The 5 a.m. Club: Own Your Morning, Elevate Your Life" by Robin Sharma. The book explaines that successful people wake up early in the morning. They use one hour of their extra morning time to have an exercise, contemplate on their life, and learn anything they need to accomplish their dreams.
Well, you know, I am not really that morning person. It is hard for me to wake at 5 in the morning. I always wake up after 6 instead. Yeah, I know it's already too late for my subuh prayer. I realize that it is such a bad bad habit even though I've known the benefits of waking up early that are already advised by some Islamic figures. So the book intrigued me. Do they (who aren't moslems) also find benefits from waking up early? Well I am going to find out as soon as I have the book delivered to my home.
After that, I opened youtube and find this one channel: Matt d'Avella. He has this playlist of trying new good habit for 30 days. Although I've subscribed him for years, yesterday I watched those videos for real. He tried take a cold shower for 30 days, journaling for 30 days, stop drinking coffee, stop consuming sugar, meditating, even quit social media for 30 days. In those videos he shares how he struggled to get used to do those habits and how they affected his life.
Matt also builds a community for people who want to change their life by changing their habit first. He gives step-by-step guidance and motivate those people who join that community. It's really interesting ... I never know that there is a community focusing on habit changes. But, as interested as I am, well ... you know, unfortunately, I can't afford it. 😅
So, now I'm going to try to list some habits I want to have in my life -- with the hope to be a better person in the future, of course. And ... here are 10 habits I want to conquer some day:
- Quit social media (facebook and instagram)
- Wake up at 5 a.m.
- Morning exercise for 20 minutes
- Take a bath early in the morning
- Drink 10 glass of water
- Sleep at 10 p.m.
- Eat more vegetables
- Exercise 5 times a week
- Journaling every day
- Read Qur'an 1 juz every week
